The
Glue
The adhesive on a Dustbubble has a difficult
job to do. Firstly it must stick the DustBubble to any wall and
make an airtight seal. It must be strong enough to stick to untreated
or greasy walls, wood or porous surfaces whilst it must also be
gentle enough not to rip wallpaper or fresh paint. Just as tape
manufacturers sell many hundreds of varieties of tape, then there
will eventually be many varieties of DustBubbles.
Our DustBubbles
for Wallpaper and Painted Walls a gentle adhesive to ensure
the wall surafce is not marked around the hole drilled. The DustBubbles
for Wood, Plaster and Untreated Surfaces use a strong adhesive
for porous or dusty surfaces. Care must be taken when using these
especially when removing it from the wall as the strong adhesive
can rip the bubble is handles carelessly. DustBubble for
Kitchen and Bathroom Tiles has a thicker tissue based adhesive
with non slip properties to help steady the drill bit, avoiding
expensive accidents.
The first top tip number 1 is to always
use the appropriate DustBubble for the wall surface and if possible
test in a discreet place first.
The Scrunch
Dustbubbles
are manufactured from extremely light materials which can cause static
cling, the handles can sometimes stick to the body.
Top tip number 2 is to rub the Dustbubble between two fingers
to loosen up the plastic from the handle. This makes it easier to
pull open once it is stuck to the wall.
Withdrawal
We do say very clearly on
the packet but its worth repeating.
Top tip number 3 is always keep the drill bit spinning when
pulling out of the DustBubble.
The
Wallplug
Do not remove the DustBubble
the moment you finish drilling
Top tip number 4 is to push a wallplug into the hole whilst
the DustBubble is still attached, this stops any dust that might
be sitting inside the wall from falling out. Make sure the wall
plug is firmly in place inside the hole.
The
Pinch
Be gentle, the DustBubble
is made from light plastic so it will not withstand rough treatment
after it has been drilled through. This especially applies to the
DustBubbles for Wood, Plaster and Untreated Surfaces
which use a very strong adhesive.
Top tip number 5 is to wrap your fingers around the DustBubble
and pinch the bubble towards the hole. Then gently pull directly
off the wall.
